Buy it. Now! Don’t hesitate. I purchased this about 10 days ago after reading all the outstanding reviews. I have been having the most irritating skin problems; clogged and giant pores, dry skin that flakes everywhere yet oily enough so my makeup smears everywhere, overall getting old lol. I was hesitant to use this because my skin gets absurdly sensitive sometimes, but I’m happy I finally did! Tried it yesterday, and watching it pull dirt out of my pores was wild lol. I literally sat with a mirror and watched it bc it was so odd. Then, I washed it off after 20 mins instead of waiting the whole 30 bc I got nervous about the reaction. Boy were people right that this is easy to wash off! Other masks have to be relentlessly scrubbed, this one just splashed right off. I could INSTANTLY tell my skins was smoother and brighter. I had one of those period pimples near my lip and it was nearly gone by the time the mask was off!! Incredible. Put makeup on and it was flawless; I could barely see any pores no matter how hard I looked. Woke up today and my skin still feels amazing. I will be stocking up so try it out before I buy every single one.

OK, so clay face masks weren't my thing - I've always said as much. I don't like the way they feel on my skin, and I always feel like they dry my skin out too much.

So while I love Benefit as a brand, I wasn't that keen on a new clay mask from them. However, I did give it a fair chance. Now, what do I think of The POREfessional Deep Retreat Pore-Clearing Clay Mask?

Well, I made a masking day of it - my boyfriend and I both put it on - and it's usually difficult to get him to do any kind of skin care, so that was nice. The cooling sensation of the mask on your face is actually what convinced him to try it. First of all, the texture makes it really easy to apply. I used a silicone spatula to apply it all over my face, and it feels pretty wet and slick as you apply, so very satisfying from the beginning.

The purple color is pretty cool, and what I love is, once it completely dries and is ready to be removed, the color completely changes, so there is no guesswork or to even bother timing how long you keep it on. For me, I loved how glowing and soft my skin looked afterwards. It felt fresh, rejuvenated, and baby smooth. My boyfriend, however, to my shock actually said he loved this and I wouldn't mind doing it regularly because he noticed that the little black spots on his nose were no longer there. This stuff pulled out all the dirt and impurities in his pores. I take care of my skin diligently every day, so it's a little more difficult to see such stark results. But with someone like him, who rarely does, it really was in a way miraculous to see how glowing and bright his skin looked afterwards! His pores were completely flushed out and clean. This mask is super comfortable to wear; it doesn't get uncomfortably tight like most others and it really does the job. I also love the little tin container that it comes in - it would be nice if they included a rubber spatula since that makes it so much easier to apply with, but thankfully I had one on hand already.

I knew clay masks are for pore tightening, not purification. But Benefit did some really good marketing with this one, so I bought it. As expected - yes, pores reduced and visibly skin looked better after use. But an hour later I could already see it actually did nothing. I don’t want tightened pores if they weren’t cleared first. In fact this could and would harm your skin. I don’t have any major skin problems, so no big deal. I suppose this could be used AFTER some mask which actually purifies skin. But there are serums for that, no need to dehydrate your face completely. Briefly - I don’t recommend. The price is also ridiculous, btw.
